Looking for a notary in Jerusalem? Our law firm in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv Decker, Pex, Levi offers document translation services from any language to any language with notary approval and signature, signing documents before a notary, apostille stamp, power of attorney with notary signature and notary services for people abroad.

When are notary services needed?

Certain documents require confirmation of their authenticity or verification of the identity of the person who signed them for procedural reasons or the attachment of a signature of a qualified notary to make a translation reliable for any official use. A notary is a lawyer who has been qualified and certified by the Notary Licensing Department at the Ministry of Justice. Notarized documents are often used as evidence in court or to support legal or procedural proceedings before government authorities or institutions in Israel or abroad.

Jerusalem Notary

Notarized translation of documents

Documents in a foreign language have to be translated and signed by a notary to confirm their reliability before they are used in any way in Israel. The type of document can be any text, including contracts, wills, birth certificates, identity cards, graduation certificates, business certificates, account confirmation and more… Some institutions are willing to accept documents in English, but the law does not require to do so. Our firm works with translators who speak a wide variety of languages and can translate a document from any language into Hebrew/English according to the client’s needs. (It is important to note one exception: for the needs of immigration and immigration to Israel, documents must be submitted to the Ministry of the Interior, which only accepts a translation certified by a notary who speaks the language of the original document).

There is also the opposite situation. It is not possible to submit documents in Hebrew at institutions abroad, so if you have to submit an official document for the purposes of immigration, studies, obtaining a visa, etc… you will be required to submit documents in the language of the destination country and you will probably need the services of a notary to translate the document from Hebrew to another language. The notary’s signature on a translated document verifies the correctness of the document and confirms that the translation is correct with no errors.

Our firm offers professional notarized translation from any language to any language with accuracy and speed. We have expertise in translating documents in the following languages: Ukrainian, Russian, English, Spanish, French, Arabic, Portuguese, Dutch, German, Japanese, Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese) and more. When we need to translate a document into a language that is not common in Israel, we contact a translator who will provide the translation with a notarized certificate within a few days. Although we cannot provide a document translation service to the Ministry of the Interior, the documents are authorized for use in any other setting.

What is the cost of a notarized translation?

The price of a document translated by a notary is fixed by law in the Notary Regulations, 5737-1977, depending on the number of words in the document. You can get a price quote by contacting us by email and stating all the words that appear in the document (including the document envelope such as document number, titles, etc.)

What must appear on a notarized document?

In order for an official document issued in one country to be accepted in another country, it is important that it bear an apostille stamp. This stamp is issued by the competent authority in the countries that have signed the Hague Convention from 1961 on the Authentication of Documents. The stamp qualifies the document for use in any treaty country and confirms its reliability. Our office provides a licensed notary service and will be happy to help you get an apostille stamp for any need.
