How to File a Request to Delay Execution of a Will in Israel

Delay Execution of a Will in Israel
If one wishes to delay the execution of a succession order or will probate order through the Registrar of Inheritance Affairs, one must submit a prepared affidavit that includes, among other things, reasons justifying delaying the execution of the will. It is possible to submit the request by mail or by delivery to the service box (during office hours) in the registrar district offices where the will is being dealt with. (We have other articles with information about the various districts with fax numbers and addresses along with their websites and email addresses.)
Additionally a fee must be paid for delaying the execution of the will. The application should be accompanied by a confirmation of payment, even if the payment was made on the internet.
What Happens Next
After the data is entered in to the system and scanned, it is passed on to the legal adviser in the attorney general’s office in the relevant district. Once the legal adviser gives a response, it is passed back to the Registrar of Inheritance Affairs.
Delay in Execution of a Will By a Family Court
In the event that the will’s execution is delayed due to an order by a family court, the application for the delay must be submitted directly to the court and not to the offices of the Registrar of Inheritance Affairs.
