The foreign artist who wishes to obtain a foreign expert visa through a company must be well-known in their field. Foreign artists are often issued visas for a shorter period of time, generally a maximum of three months. At the same time, a longer visa may be issued, but the Population and Immigration Authority stipulates that the visa for a particular foreign artist should not extend past one year at any given time. Generally the time granted in the visa corresponds to the length of time required to perform the project the foreign artist is coming to do in Israel.

When applying for a foreign expert visa for an artist, it is important to include a few things alongside the application. These include relevant certificates indicating the artist’s reputation, the Israeli employer’s reputation, and any information detailing the project the foreign artist is coming to take part in. It is important to note that when a company applies for an Israeli work visa for a foreign artist, the commissioner may ask for the opinion of the Israel Union of Performing Artists.
